Pope Francis has invited all the bishops of the world, along with their priests, to join him in a prayer for peace and the consecration and entrustment of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary on Friday, March 25, the solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord.
Join Bishop Eusebio Elizondo at St. James Cathedral to unite our prayers to the Holy Father’s intentions at the same time the prayers and consecration are happening in Rome.
Full schedule at St. James Cathedral:
Available livestreamed on Vimeo or Facebook @ArchdioceseofSeattle. People can also watch Pope Francis live from Rome on Vatican TV livestream. Archbishop Etienne will be in Chicago for a bishops' conference this Friday and will be praying with his brother bishops and the universal Church during the Consecration.
Please read today’s Gospel Luke 15:1,-3, 11-32
Dialogue: What are some of the things that strike you in this story of Jesus? Who are the heroes in this story? Why do you think he is a hero or good model? Do you think it was difficult for the Father to forgive his son? Why didn’t the older sin welcome his brother? Do you think he went into the celebration as his Father wanted?
Activity: Form a family circle, pray the Our Father. Then embrace each member and say at least one of the following: “I love you.” “May God forgive you, and I forgive you.” Perhaps celebrate with special dessert, do something together as a family (walk through the neighborhood if it is safe look for signs of Spring, watching a movie on tv, a play family board or video game, etc.

The Saturday night Mass is in need of Eucharistic Ministers. Only one person has volunteered for this 6:00 PM Mass. You do not need any experience to be a Eucharistic Minister, we will train you and make sure you are comfortable prior to serving.
Please contact Daniel Soderlind at 253-377-1952 to volunteer. If you are considering this at all, please help as we are in great need of volunteers.

Can you volunteer to Usher when you come to any of the Masses?

A huge THANK YOU to the ladies of St. John of the Woods from the Summit Christian Preschool. Our garage sale fundraiser was a great success, and we could not have done it without you! We are very grateful for the support we receive here at St. John's and are looking forward to buying new things for our classroom.
