Partners in the Gospel Listening Session Saturday,
St. Rita Church History Trivia; Last week's question: Besides Fr. Joyce who served as interim pastor for a few months after Fr. Baffaro, who was the shortest serving pastor? How many years? Fr. David served four years, 2018-2022. Fr. Biagini was close, serving five years, 1943-1948. He was killed in a car accident in California, probably due to a health emergency.
This week's question: Fr. Baffaro started many church ministries and programs in his 31 years. Which can you name? Answer in next week's email Send your St. Rita history questions for future inclusion!
This Saturday, November 1, Debbie Orlando will be joining us at coffee hour to get some input from our St. Rita community. The Archdiocese's Phase One of the One Parish Plan process is to hold Brainstorming Sessions. She invites the St. Rita Community to join in this process where parishioners share their experiences and feelings about their church community. She will ask three questions to determine "What are our Gifts?". She anticipates this session taking about 30 minutes. Hope to see you Saturday with your thoughtful responses to the three questions above. If you are unable to join us and want input, send your answers to me to be included ASAP. The three questions are:
What are St. Rita Church's Gifts?
1. How has your experience with the St. Rita community brought you closer to God?
2. What are the gifts and or strengths at St. Rita?
3. What is your favorite thing about the St. Rita community?
On another note, Fr. Hendry brought the 2024-25 Annual Report to church last Saturday. In that document, it says we only have 23 registered families. I think that is a VERY low number and that the parish list was purged at sometime. If you are not sure if you are on the list and want to be, call PSJXXIII, 253-472-1360, and make sure you are added. You can also be added to their weekly bulletin email.
Thanks to those of you who have sent me donation checks for our church. With no regular weekend Masses, our contributions are not sufficient to pay our bills each month. Donate to St.Rita with a monthly or occasional contribution. Bring to Saturday prayer services or take/mail directly to PSJXXIII and mark clearly for St. Rita's upkeep. The address is
St. Rita of Cascia Church

Parish Family- Facilities Team
We need parishioners to join our facility team. Volunteering as part of the facility team is a beautiful way to serve God and your parish community. By helping care for the church, you contribute to maintaining a sacred space where we gather to worship, pray, and seek comfort. Your efforts, no matter how small, help create a welcoming and peaceful environment for others to encounter God. It's a humble and rewarding form of stewardship that allows you to give back to the church that nourishes your faith, while also strengthening bonds with fellow parishioners as you work together for a common purpose.
