Der St. Rita Friends,
St. Rita Church History Trivia. Last week: There were many games after the church picnic meal, one of which was a baseball game. Which position did Fr. Baffaro play? Answer: Fr. Baffaro was an avid baseball fan. He played pitcher at the game between The Holy Names Men's Society and the St. Rita baseball team.* It was a very competitive game! *Fr. Baffaor required the tball eam players to attend Mass on Sundays or they could not play. He actually checked the roster to approve for every game. He evangelized a lot of the neighborhood in this way. What was the final game after the ball game? Fr. Baffaro would hold up money (most likely a dollar bill) and all of the kids would chase him around the baseball field trying to get that dollar! Several of you had good memories of this challenging event!
This week's question; Fr. Baffaro had a favorite treat that he ALWAYS gave to neighborhood kids for Halloween Trick of Treat and at the annual parish Christmas Party. What was it? Anwer in next week's email. Send your St. Rita history questions for future inclusion!

We have heat! The vandalized church heat pumps were both replaced and are working great. We plan on having a fundraiser in February to recoup some or all of the $20,000 expense. If you know anyone who would be a major sponsor, please contact them to donate. Refer them to me if they want more information.
We are updating our St. Rita member registry. If you are not sure if you are on the St. Rita list of parishioners and want to be, call PSJXXIII, 253-472-1360, and make sure you are added. You can also be added to their weekly bulletin email.

Parish Family- Facilities Team
We need parishioners to join our facility team. Volunteering as part of the facility team is a beautiful way to serve God and your parish community. By helping care for the church, you contribute to maintaining a sacred space where we gather to worship, pray, and seek comfort. Your efforts, no matter how small, help create a welcoming and peaceful environment for others to encounter God. It's a humble and rewarding form of stewardship that allows you to give back to the church that nourishes your faith, while also strengthening bonds with fellow parishioners as you work together for a common purpose.
