Saint Rita Church of PSJXXIII Parish Family

St. Rita Feast Day Celebration, Saturday, May 24, was a HUGE success. The Mass was well attended with seven young altar servers assisting Fr. Tuan and Fr. Henry. The altars were decorated with red roses for St. Rita plus other gorgeous arrangements, all donated by members of our Saturday Prayer Group. The music was led by Janice, our former accompanist, and cantors Teresa and George making the music prayerful and uplifting. Our Prayer Group filled the liturgical roles at Mass. THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR DEDICATION TO OUR CHURCH.

The lunch and fellowship after Mass was such fun. Lots of visiting and laughter filled the hall. The food was delicious as well as plentiful, served expertly by our Prayer Group Hospitality Team. The raffle was a sellout with lots of lucky winners! We will have a financial report soon, but what was NOT considered a fundraiser appears to have brought some much appreciated funds for our church.  If you would still like to donate to the St. Rita Feast Day celebration, mail checks clearly marked for St. Rita to Pope St. John XXIII Parish, 7025 S. Park Ave., Tacoma 98409. We would love to be able to celebrate more Saturday Masses, so if we can grow our Saturday Prayer Group, it's a possibility! Come pray with us any and every Saturday morning. You won't be disappointed!

We need parishioners to join our facility team.  Volunteering as part of the facility team is a beautiful way to serve God and your parish community. By helping care for the church, you contribute to maintaining a sacred space where we gather to worship, pray, and seek comfort. Your efforts, no matter how small, help create a welcoming and peaceful environment for others to encounter God. It's a humble and rewarding form of stewardship that allows you to give back to the church that nourishes your faith, while also strengthening bonds with fellow parishioners as you work together for a common purpose.

Every Sunday during Lent, Visitation had a small reflection group that met each week to discuss the readings and pray together. After one particularly meaningful session where they discussed important moments when they felt God's presence in their lives, they invited the community at Visitation to share their moments of experiencing God by writing it down on a notecard and collected them. They are preparing weekly flyers with all of these shared "God moments" and would like to share them with the whole PSJ family.
