Anual Catholic Appeal Report:

We are about to wrap up the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal.  ACA pledged and contributed until July 1:

213/745 families 29% need $5,519 to get goal $64,628.

Our Parish has not got the goal. Please be generous because it does make a difference in our lives. We need help to continue as we

get older.” Watch Father Gordon Douglas, senior priest in the Archdiocese of Seattle, share how the Annual Catholic Appeal helps support his care through the Care with Grace Ministry. Please give today through the ACA Cards at the pew or parish website.

SUMMER CAMPS

The Parish Eucharist Youth Group (TNTT) had a wonderful time enjoying summer camps with one another during this summer. Many thanks to the youth leaders, parents and volunteers who organized and supported the children with fun games, tasty food, and a safe place. The children have learned and had a good chance to practice it. May God bless them.

Our Pope St. John XXIII Prayer team was organized and approved by Father Tuan over two years ago.  The members of our Prayer Team have to attend Mass on a regular basis and be in good standing with the Catholic Church.  We have prayed for close to 200 Prayer intentions this past year which were given to us by the Archbishop, Priests and parishioners, resulting in many answered prayer requests.  If you would like to send in a prayer intention, please either call or email Frank (Bob) Gummersall, the team leader.  Phone: 253-459-2486 or email: frgtacoma@gmail.com.

All prayer requests are privacy protected.  We have 12 team members who will graciously add your requests to their prayers.

South Tacoma Chapel

ACA families contributed: At this time, we have heard from 27 / 123 families, about 22% of Visitation Church of PSJXXIII Parish. Thank you to everyone who has contributed or pledged to the campaign so far.

Reminder - there is no daily Mass on Thursdays during the summer months.  The Thursday 9 am Mass will resume in the fall when school is in session.

Pope St. John XXIII STEM ACADEMY

School has been out for just a couple weeks and the Fulcrum Foundation and Shea Homes are wasting no time improving our beautiful school. There are a total of thirteen projects being completed during summer break.

Our students are our top priority, so improvements like these are totally worth the investment.

We are so grateful for our community partnerships and the support of our parish family.

Please follow our progress all summer!

Parish News

By PSJXXIII Parish May 1, 2025
Last year, Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy conducted an Enrollment Potential Study in collaboration with Meitler, a national Catholic school planning firm. This year, we are extending that work to create a strategic plan for Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy for the next five years. As we did in the previous study, we know and understand the importance of hearing from families who currently have children enrolled at Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy. We are asking you to complete an online survey in order to share your insights and opinions about Pope St. John XXIII STEM Academy. This survey is distinct from the survey many of you completed previously. Please complete the survey as soon as possible, but no later than May 14. It should take approximately 8-10 minutes to answer the survey questions. All responses are confidential and very important.
