Thanks to 96 families who have already returned your Parish Stewardship commitment card.  We expect everyone else to prayerfully evaluate your giving to the parish and community and after praying, fill out your commitment card and return it.

If you have a circumstance that prevents you from committing money this year, you are still a valued member of this church and we urge you to return your commitment card with the word, prayer, on it.  Thank you

The Weekend of Dec. 10/11 the Statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe be in the church for her Feast on Monday Dec. 12th. Our Lady of Guadalupe pray for us

CHRISTMAS GIVING TREE

Last Sunday, Sr Anna set up the giving tree for the homebound and nursing home Christmas gifts.

Please take a tag and bring back the gift unwrapped before Dec 18 and place them under the tree. Anyone can participate. Thank you

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT

This years Christmas pageant at SJOW will be held on Sunday December 18th after the 11:30am Mass in the parish hall. Please come and share the Christmas spirit with our CCD Children

CHRISTMAS FOOD DRIVE

(pick-up date Dec 16 at South Tacoma Chapel)

The Ministries of the Poor/Ministries of Care are now working on Christmas Baskets, and hoping your generosity will continue into Christmas. We will collect the same non-perishable items we did for Thanksgiving, from Nov. 20th until Dec.16th. 

Please bring your food to the church and place it in the food Box in the vestibule. Each item is greatly appreciated! Suggested items are: canned sweet potatoes, small marshmallows, olives, boxed cake mix, cake frosting, gravy in jar or can, canned cranberries, cream of mushroom soup, jello, string beans, gift cards or money for ham and other groceries.

FOOD BANK THANKSGIVING

Thank you to everyone that donated to the Ministries of the Poor Thanksgiving Food Drive! It was a huge success! Because of the generosity of parishioners from Pope St. John XXIII, St. John of the Woods, the South Tacoma Chapel and St. Rita's Station, we were able to provide over 80 turkeys and baskets of food to those in need at Thanksgiving. 

Because of the high cost of turkeys and groceries this year, we spent over $2,000 on turkeys alone. Your monetary donations of $750 went towards that expense. If you would like to help offset the cost of turkeys, please make a donation to the "Ministries of the Poor" and write "Thanksgiving" on the memo line. This will help recoup that cost. Thank you again for your generosity!
