ARCHDIOCESAN CAMPAIGN - ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL 2023
We have received gifts and pledges totaling $14,116 from 55 families of the parish. We are looking forward to surpassing our goal of $24,963 to fully fund our parish project a new sound system for the church. The sound system was installed May 31st. So please prayerfully consider a gift today.
SPECIAL BREAKFAST FOR GENE OTTIS
“The family of Gene Otis will be celebrating his 100th Birthday on Sunday June 11th with a special breakfast. Tom Cruz and his team are cooking up a parish breakfast in honor of Gene.
As always we will be serving from 8am to 11am. Gene attends the 8am Mass, so after all parishioners are invited to come share a great breakfast and some time with Gene. His family will be present and plan to share a birthday cake with him. Please plan to come and share in Gene’s joy. Congratulations Gene!
GROUNDS CARE
Thank you to all of our volunteers. The grounds around St. John of the Woods are beautiful and ready for the summer season. Special thanks to Tom Dolan and Richard Morris for cleaning up the sidewalk for our church.
IN LOVING MEMORY OF RICHARD KOVAL
Longtime parishioner Richard Koval has passed away. His funeral will be Friday, June 30 at 1:00pm here at St. John of the Woods Mission. Our prayers and condolences are sent to the family of Richard.
Eternal rest, grant unto him, and let the perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen
FAREWELL MASS FOR SUSAN
A farewell Mass will be celebrated in honor of Susan Teskey, our secretary, Sunday June 25 at 11:30am. If you would like to send Susan a card, or message, a basket will be in the vestibule of the church or you may bring it to the office. We will make sure that she receives them.
CORPUS CHRISTI
Sunday, June 11th the Pope St. John XXIII will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi honoring the real presence of the body (Corpus) of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.
Parish Mass will be at 9:45 AM bilingual, and will include a Eucharistic Procession. We will process around the parking lot, then be back to the church and end with Benediction. All Are Invited.
