FELLOWSHIP BREAKFAST
The Knights of Columbus will host a Fellowship Pancake Breakfast at Pope St. John XXIII (main campus) after the 9:45am Mass on Sunday Feb 19.
All are invited to join us, share fun and fellowship.
Obligation during Lent
Abstinence
Abstinence is a penitential practice consisting of refraining from the consumption of meat and is to be observed by all Catholics who are 14 years of age and older. Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and all Fridays during Lent are days of abstinence. Pastors and parents are encouraged to see that children who are not bound by the obligation to fast and abstain are led to appreciate an authentic sense of penance.
Fasting
In addition to abstinence, fasting is to be observed by all Catholics between the ages of 18 and 59 years (inclusive) On ash Wednesday and good Friday, one full meal is allowed. Two smaller meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to one’s needs, but together may not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted, but liquids are allowed. NOTE: Those who are unable to observe the above regulations due to ill health or other serious reasons are urged to practice other forms of self-denial that are suitable to their condition.

DONATIONS TO THE FOOD BANK
The St. Vincent de Paul no longer operates at our parish campus. Any future gifts given in the SVDP envelopes will go to the church food bank and that it is no longer operated by SVDP. Thank you
COAT DRIVE
We congratulate and thank the Saturday prayer group at St. Rita's who had a coat drive during the month of January. They ended up collecting and donating over 7 bags of clothes to the St. Leo's Food Connection. Great work!!!

Did you know that you can make $50 of your auction fundraising obligation by bringing a dessert to the event? We are looking for upscale homemade or bakery-bought desserts for the gala auction on the night of March 26th.
