WEEK OF PRAYER FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY

Jan 18 - Jan 25

Day 2: WHEN JUSTICE IS DONE

Prov 21:13-15 When justice is done, it is a joy to the righteous, but dismay to evildoers.

Mt 23:23-25 Justice and mercy and faithfulness. These you ought to have done.

PRAYER OF DAY 2

God, You are the source of our wisdom. We pray for wisdom and courage to do justice, to respond to what is wrong in the world by acting to make it right; we pray for wisdom and courage to grow in the unity of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who with You and the Holy Spirit, reigns forever and ever. Amen.

The theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in 2023, taken from the first chapter of the Book of Isaiah, reflects his concern for the oppressed who suffer from injustice and inequality fed by hypocrisy that leads to disunity. He teaches that God requires righteousness and justice from all of us, to create the peace and unity that God desires. Isaiah's challenge to do good and seek justice together applies equally to us today .

    CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Since 1974, National Catholic Schools Week is the annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. Catholic Schools Week will run from Jan. 29th-Feb. 4th. The theme for National Catholic Schools Week 2022 is “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” PSJSTEM will observe the annual celebration week with Masses, an open house and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, we focus on the value Catholic education provides to young people and its contributions to our church, our communities and our nation.

Our parish community is invited to visit our school for Open House on January 29 and for Celebrating our Community on February 2, 2023

Monday, Jan. 30th, will be Career Day.
