Job Title: Custodian

Full Time 40 hours per week Non-Exempt

I. POSITION PURPOSE:

Oversees and/or provides custodial services to grounds and buildings to enhance the image of the parish, mission and the facilities within the campuses, to provide a suitable and healthy environment for building occupants.

II. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. For volunteers and/or contracted services: establishes work priorities; provides training, including safety requirements; supervise and give work direction. Assure compliance with safety regulations by promptly alerting supervisor of any concerns.
2. Maintains an inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment and reorders as appropriate and within budget.
3. Maintains an inventory of hospitality supplies (restroom, kitchen and others) and reorders as appropriate and within budget.
4. Sweeps, mops, vacuums and performs general cleaning the church, blue house and the Milner Center including hallways and restrooms and assures they are maintained in a clean and orderly condition.
5. Maintains all campus building in a sound condition by performing minor repairs and preventative maintenance to ensure that all facilities and equipment are kept in workable order and reduces or prevent major repairs.
6. Empties garbage cans throughout the facility as needed or on a scheduled basis.
7. Responsible for the stewardship of the Cluster’s Safety Committees including membership, quarterly meetings, safety boards, meeting minutes and follow through.
8. Assures that heating units are maintained and in proper working order.
9. Secures buildings and property, buildings are locked when not in use and only invited persons are allowed on parish property.
10. Works in partnership with each Parishes Facility committee members who volunteers to ensure monthly areas of concern are maintained.
11. Reviews & maintains all maintenance contracts.
12. Acts as point person for all building or equipment operational issues, assuring the expedient and cost-effective return to a fully functioning status.
13. Conducts major annual cleaning (floor stripping and waxing) in classrooms, hallways & social halls.
14. Assures that grounds are properly watered, walkways are free of debris and deiced.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.49 - $22.50 per hour
